In order to be recognized as exempt from federal income tax under the Internal Revenue Service code 501(c)3 organizations are required to apply to the IRS using Form 1023. An application fee is also required. In our case the filing fee was $750.00. Accessible Play, Inc.'s Form 1023 was mailed to the IRS on February 17, 2009. On March 18, 2009 the IRS approved our application. Accessible Play, Inc. is a public charity under IRC 170 (b)(1)(A)(vi). Click here to see our determination letter.
